This is a quilted wall hanging. The main technique I used in this piece is reverse applique. This were the remnant pieces after cutting out a bunch of lab equipment. I liked how the reverse images looked, so I layered them over solid cottons and a bunch of scraps for the different liquids. I tried to choose fabrics that could represent particulates or molecules. I stitched everything in place with layers of cotton batting and cotton backing fabric.
Hanging Instructions: A hanging sleeve is sewn on the back. Two options for hanging are included with each piece. Rest the wooden dowel on two nails or hooks for invisible hanging or use just one hook with the cotton twine visible. Remove the dowel if framing or using as a table runner.
Care Instructions: Spot clean or hand wash. Lay flat to dry. Iron flat if desired.
